LASER

Laser hair reduction is a great way to address hair growth on larger areas of the body (think legs, backs, etc.). The process, and science, of laser hair reduction differs greatly from electrolysis. However, many of the same results can be achieved.

HOW do Lasers work?
A laser’s primary objective is to seek out and destroy pigment using amplified light. As such, this method has historically relied upon fair skin and dark hair to ensure good outcomes.
While today’s lasers for hair reduction operate on the same premise as their predecessors - the modern machines are more finely tuned to ensure results can be achieved with hair that is light in colour and skin that is dark in pigment. Essentially - MANY more people are ideal candidates for modern laser hair reduction.

WHAT type of laser does  f&d use?
At f&d, we utilize the LightSheer® DESIRE™  laser for permanent hair reduction. This is not your mother’s laser - it’s brand new technology.

LightSheer® DESIRE™ Light uses a 805nm diode wavelength, an industry standard for permanent hair reduction for all skin types. With the high fluence ChillTip™ technology, a cooled sapphire chills the skin before and during treatment, offering treatment efficacy and patient comfort. You read it right - COMFORT - the Chilltip works to ensure the skin is slightly numbed during treatment, significantly reducing sensation.

 Benefits:

 Ultimate Patient Comfort
ChillTip™ Technology improves patient comfort by cooling the skin prior to treatment and continuously cooling it throughout the treatment.

Clinically Validated Efficacy
Numerous clinical studies and peer review articles have validated the safety and efficacy of the technologies powering the LightSheer® DESIRE™ Light. Thousands of satisfied customers have been and are still benefiting from the gold standard performance and patient satisfaction.

Faster Treatment time
Large areas (such as backs) can be treated in approximately 30mins.

WHO can benefit?
Pretty much anyone over 16 years of age.

WHEN can laser be performed?
Laser is best when the skin being treated has been shielded from the sun. So, summer is not the ideal time to begin treating your legs. Utilizing a laser on tanned skin could result in burns or scarring.
